    Why we skip "natural flavours".

Two words that sound clean and can cover a lot. Tap them and see, then flip over a bag of ours.

What those two words can cover

A "natural flavour" only has to start from a plant or animal source. It can be built in a lab from there, and the helpers used to make it don't have to be listed on your label.

    • Solvents
    • Carriers
    • Emulsifiers
    • Preservatives

    Sugar, honestly

    A little sugar. On purpose.

Salt and sugar are old friends. In your small intestine, sodium and glucose are taken in together through the same doorway. Scientists call it the sodium-glucose co-transporter, SGLT1 for short.

Stevia and monk fruit make a drink taste sweet, but they aren't glucose, so they can't do that pairing job. Sports drinks go the other way with a whole lot of sugar. Every Salty sits in the middle: 3.7g of organic cane juice per glass, about one teaspoon, which is just enough to turn tart fruit into lemonade or punch.

You don't need a sports drink's worth. You do need some.

    Sugar per drink

Tap to compare. One cube is about 4g.

    Read the small print

    Magnesium comes in forms.

"Magnesium" on a label is always magnesium bonded to something else. What it's bonded to is called the form, and the form changes the taste, the texture and the price. Here are the ones you'll see most, including the three we use. Tap through them.

      Put to the test

We handed Salty Turbo to the scientists.

We asked Electrokare Labs, an independent research and performance tech group, to run a proper trial on Salty Turbo. Every runner did four workouts, two on Turbo and two on a placebo, in a shuffled order nobody could see.

You already own the perfect scoop.

Plastic scoops get lost in the bag and then sit in a landfill for a few hundred years. We left it out. Two level teaspoons from your kitchen drawer is exactly one serving.

      A tiny history lesson

      How electrolytes got weird.

      Way back

      Hydration was dinner.

Salt on your food, broth on the stove, fruit in the bowl.

      Then

      Sports drinks.

Neon colours, lots of sugar, and a recipe built around a pro athlete mid-game.

      Then

      The tubs.

Powders got trendy, and the ingredient lists filled up with sweeteners, fillers and "natural flavour."

      Where we landed

      Back to real.

Real salt, real fruit, a mushroom and creatine. Every milligram on the label. Made right here in Canada.

Hi, it's us Brett and Jaye, Good Livin' co-founders, laughing on a blue couch Brett & Jaye

      Our story

Just a couple of mushroom people.

We're Brett and Jaye, plant nerds and the people most likely to turn a Sunday morning into a three-hour conversation about adaptogens.

We built Good Livin because this is how we actually live. Clean ingredients, no "natural flavours" hiding a laundry list of mystery stuff, no fillers. Just the real deal, the things we actually use, with formulas backed by science, not just vibes. Okay, some vibes, but the good kind.

This is the good stuff. Welcome in.

      Brett & Jaye

      Good questions

The stuff people ask us in the aisle.

Is this the same Salty that's in the store?

Yes. Everything on this page is about the same Salty bags on the shelf in front of you. Same recipe, same milligrams.

      How much do I use?

Two teaspoons per serving, in about 10oz of cold water. Any teaspoon from your kitchen drawer works. Go up to 16oz of water if you like it lighter.

Which Salty do I drink when?

Our go-to: Goddess first thing, Einstein on desk days, Turbo before you sweat. Honestly though, they're all two teaspoons in water, so drink the one you're in the mood for. Stick to the serving on each bag.

What does "Made in Canada" mean here?

Salty is made in Canada with domestic and imported ingredients. The sea salt is Canadian, and the mushroom in every bag is grown in Canada.

      Isn't creatine a gym-bro thing?

It was marketed that way for years. These days it's one of the most researched supplements out there, and loads of people add it to their morning. Ours is creatine HCL, the more soluble form, so it mixes clean with no grit.

      Why "a little salty"?

Because there's real Canadian sea salt in it, and we like you to taste it. Fruit up front, a little salt on the finish. Very margarita-adjacent.

      Will I feel a difference?

We can't promise how you'll feel, and we'd side-eye anyone who does. Bodies are wildly different. What we can tell you is exactly what's in every glass, down to the milligram, and how to make it. For anything health-related, your doctor is the best first call.

Who should check with a practitioner first?

Good food and plenty of water come first, always. Check with your practitioner before using Salty if you:

      • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
      • Are on a low-sodium diet, or watching your blood pressure
      • Have kidney or heart concerns
      • Take any prescription medication

      Stay salty.

Three bags. Two teaspoons. Made in Canada, and waiting for you on the shelf at your local health food store.
