The number on the back

Some mushrooms hit different.

60.8%

Beta-glucans are a type of fibre in mushroom cell walls, and they're the compounds most mushroom research zeroes in on. So they're the number worth checking on any mushroom label. We test every one of ours.

Beta-glucan content, tested

Beta-glucan (1,3 and 1,6) content from third-party testing. Comparison figures are from leading imported extracts and fruiting body powders.

Full spectrum, explained

Jaye and Brett talk full spectrum Canadian mushrooms.

Brett's cordyceps story

The Olympic rumour that started it all.

Every mushroom company has an origin story. Ours involves world records, a famous coach and a guy who runs very, very far.

Then we put it to the test

We handed Salty Turbo to the scientists.

Brett's rabbit hole eventually became Salty Turbo, our electrolyte with Canadian sea salt, creatine and Canadian-grown cordyceps. So we asked Electrokare Labs, an independent research and performance tech group, to run a proper trial on it. Every runner did four workouts, two on Turbo and two on a placebo, in a shuffled order nobody could see.

A model trained only on heart rate, HRV, pace and splits picked out the Turbo sessions 76% of the time. Guessing gets you 50.

It's a small study. 18 runners and 72 sessions. Strong signal, small group.
We worked with Electrokare on it. They ran and analysed it independently, in collaboration with us.
Some numbers are surveys. Heart rate and the computer test come from wearables. Energy, focus, effort and cramping come from what runners logged.
These are averages. Bodies are wildly different. For anything health-related, your doctor's the best first call.

The lineup

Seven pouches. All grown in Canada.

The same 230g pouches you'll find at your local health food store. Look for them by name on the shelf, or ask the staff where the mushrooms live.

Hi, it's us Brett and Jaye, Good Livin' co-founders, laughing on a blue couch Brett & Jaye

Our story

Just a couple of mushroom people.

We're Brett and Jaye, plant nerds and the people most likely to turn a Sunday morning into a three-hour conversation about adaptogens.

We built Good Livin because this is how we actually live. Clean ingredients, no "natural flavours" hiding a laundry list of mystery stuff, no fillers. Just the real deal, the things we actually use, with formulas backed by science, not just vibes. Okay, some vibes, but the good kind.

This is the good stuff. Welcome in.

Brett & Jaye

Good questions

The stuff people ask us in the aisle.

Is this the same product that's in the store?

Yes. Everything on this page is about the same 230g pouches on the shelf in front of you. Same mushrooms, same testing, same numbers.

Where are the mushrooms grown?

In British Columbia. Every mushroom in the 230g lineup is certified organic and grown in BC. Good Livin' itself is based in Kelowna.

What does full spectrum mean?

We use the fruiting body and the mycelium together, so you get the whole mushroom rather than half of it. The diagram and the video above walk through it.

How do I use it?

About 1/3 tsp (1g) a serving. Stir it into coffee, matcha, a smoothie, oats, or soup after cooking. Earthy and mild, it mostly disappears.

Will I feel a difference?

We can't promise how you'll feel, and we'd side-eye anyone who does. What we can tell you is exactly what's in the bag, where it's grown and how to use it. For anything health-related, your doctor is the best first call.

So good, you'll feel it.

Grown in BC, tested by a third-party lab, and waiting for you on the shelf at your local health food store.

Back to the numbers

This page is for education and general interest. It isn't medical advice, and these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Beta-glucan figures are from third-party testing; comparison figures are from leading imported extracts and fruiting body powders. Historical notes describe history, not effects. The Electrokare study was run on Salty Turbo with 18 runners; results are averages and individual experience will vary.
